Tec, you are right on the fact that this isn't DnD, and it's certainly better. BUT... Most monks don't wear any armor at all. So that they can move more freely. So I don't think any monk fans would be too sad about losing armor resists that they don't need anyway..

I'm just saying, it would be awfully rough having only in ths 40s for resists, and that's with like 130 Resisting Spells.

Well maybe some sort of clothing could be made for monks that added resists but wasn't full blown metal armor.

I wasn't making an attempt to turn this server into DnD, however DnD has a massive and commonly known system that tries to keep logistics as close to reality as possible. Thats why I chose the example.

WHY would holding a book make your punches any stronger? It wouldn't, if anything your hand would break from punching incorrectly.

and all you would have to do is make the gloves themselves a weapon, meaning anyone who went monk for the "awsome resist" gloves would have the downfall of having to use them as their weapon also, which would ALSO require going monk 3 to master the weapon proficiency to use them effectivly. This would also be awsome for rogues, who could use wrestling and use their skills, and attack effectivly at same time, you could even make some gloves poisonable, how would you poison a book?

On armor, I really like the clothes instead of metal armor idea, maybe give them like, 70 to magic resists but 60 or just lower physical res? SE oriental clothing would be kickass to use on monk classes

I agree with mephistopheles that a monk should not be using a book, at least as a weapon. It would make no sense. Imagine your fighting with a sword and someone pulls a book on you and tries to counter your attacks with a book. not very good rp there. As for the gloves that do damage it would be a disadvantage to monks without gloves and weapon being different stats. But you can make gloves that do damage monk only weapons making them unqiue to just that class as well as add armor and resistance to them making them armor and weapon combined so no one is at lost. As well as you can set the layer of the damage gloves to another layer and be able to wear both types of gloves at once so your not really losing out. Wouldn't be that hard to script, I can try scripting an experimental pair in my spare time if someone wants. (beware I am new to scripting so it might take awhile lol)
